The soft, chunky, and perfectly oversized sweater with a high neck and decorative buttons at the front. It looks just as great with jeans as it does layered over a dress, and will quickly become a wardrobe favorite. Knit on 7 mm needles for a full and airy texture, featuring bold cables that give the sweater that little extra touch.
ABOUT THE GARMENT
The sweater is worked from the top down. First, the back piece is worked flat with increases to build width and establish the cable pattern. Stitches are then picked up for the front pieces to align with the pattern, and the fronts are worked separately, shaping the neckline and armholes. The front and back pieces are then joined to form the body, which is worked in the round in the cable pattern. The sleeves are picked up and worked in the round, and the sweater is finished with ribbed edges, a neckline, loops, and buttons.
Sizes: 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6) 7
Bust measurement (Garments measurement): 120 (130) 140 (150) 160 (170) 180 cm
Length of sweater: 58 (60) 62 (64) 64 (66) 66 cm
Size guide:
The sweater is designed to have approximately 40–60 cm (15¾–23½”) of positive ease, meaning the finished garment should be larger than your body measurements. I would recommend to size up if you are in between sizes! You can adjust the length of the sleeves and body to your preference, but keep in mind that this may affect the amount of yarn required.
Pattern also includes instructions on how to add bust shaping. Bodies have different proportions, so you might need more room across the chest without wanting a larger sweater across the shoulders and back. You can then choose to add approx. 10, 15, or 20 cm (4, 6, or 8”) of extra width to the front.
Pattern also gives 3 different sleeve options! One sleeve with decreases, one sleeve without decreases and one sleeve with an extra cable.
Gauge:
Stockinette stitch: 13 stitches and 14 rows using one strand of each quality on 7 mm needles = 10 cm (4”) after washing and blocking
When sts are crossed over one another, the actual width reduces, even though the sts themselves remain the same size.
Cable pattern: 17 stitches and 15 rows using one strand of each quality on 7 mm needles = 10 cm (4”) after washing and blocking
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Suggested yarn: One strand Peer Gynt from Sandnes Garn (91 meters/ 50 grams) held together with one strand Chunky Ballerina Mohair from Sandes Garn (135 meters/ 50 grams)
Suggested yarn amount:
Peer Gynt:
500 (550) 600 (650) 700 (750) 800 grams

The yarn quantities are calculated based on sleeve option 1. Allow for additional yarn if you are making sleeve options 2 or 3. For sleeve option 2, I recommend adding 1 (1) 1 (1) 1 (1) 1 extra skein(s) of Peer Gynt and 1 (0) 1 (1) 0 (0) 0 extra skein(s) of Ballerina Chunky Mohair. For sleeve option 3, I recommend adding 1 (1) 1 (1) 2 (2) 2 extra skein(s) of Peer Gynt and 1 (0) 1 (1) 1 (1) 1 extra skein(s) of Ballerina Chunky Mohair.
